Cookie Policy
Last updated: 20 May 2026
This page explains what cookies are, how Metta Law uses them, and the choices available to you. We aim to use only what is necessary to keep the website functioning and to understand how it is used, so we can continue to improve it.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They help the site remember information about your visit — such as your language preference or whether you have acknowledged a notice — so that the experience is more consistent on future visits.
Cookies do not contain personal information on their own, but in some cases they may be combined with other data to identify you. They are not harmful to your device and most browsers accept them by default. You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies if you prefer, though some parts of the site may not function as intended as a result.
2. Cookie Types We Use
Essential Cookies
Always active — required for the site to function
These cookies are necessary for the website to operate. They manage session continuity, remember your cookie preferences, and support basic security. They cannot be disabled. Examples include: your cookie consent record, session identifiers.
Duration: Session or up to 12 months.
Analytics Cookies
Help us understand how the site is used
These cookies collect anonymous information about how visitors use the website — which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and where traffic comes from. The data helps us improve the site over time. No personal identity is stored. Examples include: page view counters, session duration.
Duration: Up to 24 months.
Marketing Cookies
Used for relevant advertising
These cookies may be set by advertising partners to show content that is relevant to your interests across other websites. They track activity across different sites to build a profile. We use these sparingly and only where we believe they serve a genuine purpose for visitors seeking family legal support.
Duration: Up to 12 months.
Preference Cookies
Remember your settings
These cookies remember your settings and choices to make future visits more comfortable — such as your language or region preference. Without them, you may need to re-enter certain choices each visit.
Duration: Up to 12 months.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are placed by services we use to support the website's functionality, rather than by Metta Law directly. These may include:
- Google Analytics — for anonymous usage statistics (analytics cookies). You can opt out via Google's tools at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Google Maps — used to display our office location. The map may set cookies related to your location or session.
We have no direct control over cookies set by third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of those services for further information.
4. Your Cookie Preferences
You can adjust your preferences here. Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the site to function. Changes take effect immediately and are saved to your browser.
