1. Definitions

In these Terms, the following words carry the meanings given below:

Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

5. Intellectual Property

All Content on this Website — including text, design, layout, graphics, and legal materials — is the property of Metta Law and is protected under applicable Thai and international intellectual property law.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and view the Website and its Content for personal, non-commercial purposes. This licence does not permit you to:

Documents and summaries provided to you as part of our Services are for your personal use in connection with your matter only.

6. Payment Terms

Fees for our Services are set out in your engagement letter and on the Services page of this Website. All fees are quoted in Thai Baht (฿) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis and assessed fairly against the work completed up to the point of any request.

7. Service-Specific Terms

The following terms apply to each of our service types:

Family Matter Consultation

The consultation is a one-time private meeting. The written summary provided is a record of the discussion and does not constitute formal legal advice on which you should rely without further engagement.

Mediation & Agreement Support

Mediation requires the willing participation of all relevant parties. We cannot ensure the outcome of any mediation process, as decisions rest with the parties involved. Agreements prepared through this service are drafted carefully, but their legal enforceability depends on the circumstances of each matter.

Full Family Representation

The scope and timeline of representation will be set out in your engagement letter. Changes to scope or unforeseen developments may affect fees; we will inform you of any material changes before proceeding. Court outcomes cannot be determined in advance by any legal representative.

8. Disclaimers

The general information on this Website is provided for reference purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. Each family situation is unique, and the information here may not apply to your particular circumstances.

We make reasonable efforts to keep the Website accurate and up to date, but we do not warrant that all information is complete, correct, or current. The Website is provided on an "as available" basis, and we do not represent that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors.

No specific outcome can be represented in any legal matter. Past matters handled by our team are not a reliable indicator of results in future cases.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Thai law, Metta Law's liability arising from or in connection with these Terms or the provision of Services is limited to the fees paid by you for the specific service to which the claim relates.

We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from use of this Website or reliance on its general content, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of income, or damage to business relationships.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, personal injury caused by negligence, or any other matter which cannot be excluded by law.

10. Confidentiality

Information you share with us in the course of a legal matter is held in strict confidence, in accordance with our professional obligations as legal practitioners in Thailand. We will not disclose confidential information to third parties except where required to do so by law, court order, or with your explicit consent.

General enquiries submitted through our contact form are handled with discretion. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how personal information is managed.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Metta Law, its lawyers, and its staff harmless from any claims, damages, or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Website, or any false or misleading information you provide to us in the course of an enquiry or engagement.

12. Termination

Either party may end an engagement by giving written notice. In the event of termination:

We reserve the right to decline or cease to represent a client where professional rules or ethical obligations require us to do so.

13. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising from these Terms or from the provision of our Services will first be addressed through good-faith discussion between the parties.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, either party may refer the matter to mediation before pursuing formal proceedings. Any unresolved dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bangkok, Thailand.

Given that our Services involve mediation and family resolution, we hope that any concerns about our work can be addressed by contacting us directly in the first instance.
